I go to a few Edges in the area. This one is the first one I have ever went to. It has a little rougher tougher clientele and that’s what I like. Over time the equipment has been replaced but they still have a couple oldies that the other edges don’t have. They will be moving soon, into a much bigger and better facility and I’m sure that will bring changes. One reason I gave this edge only A 3 star is the bathroom layout. Its tight in there and this Edge always (ALWAYS) has some creepy middle aged man hanging out in the changing room naked. Standing in front of the mirror with their towel on their shoulder and not around their waist. Just hanging out shooting the sh*t. Or standing in front of a urinal with nothing on their FEET! They use the bathroom like its their home. Not a care in the world. I seen a guy that took a shower with no towel, then tried to dry his entire body with a hair dryer. You’re forced to walk past these people and you’re just trying to wash your hands to leave. One person actually tried to engage in conversation while they’re standing there shaving with no clothes on. Why? Creepy ass people. I served over 10 years in the military and I’ve never seen this kind of behavior that goes on in the locker room of this edge. Some people have some strange bathroom habits and you’re forced into their a little weird world when you come here. They need to post a couple rules in the locker room. Rule #1 Put a towel around your waist if you’re not in the shower. Normal people do not want to see your disgusting butt. #2 Wear some shower shoes! You’re going to get some serious bacterial walking around in other people’s urine. But besides all that weirdness the gym is actually really good. Hopefully you can avoid the bathroom as much as possible. Lol Parking is tight too.

Best gym around. Don’t waste your time anywhere else! The trainers are great, the people are great, and the strong classes are out of this world. Their Edge Challenge Program is fantastic if your looking for a weight loss program. Great place for anyone to go if your young or old, a beginner or pro.

I had been at another gym and wasn’t happy there. I have been a client at The Edge Fitness since March 1, 2015. I have the greatest trainer Ashley who has made working out more fun than work. I started working out independently and found that boring. I now take the Strong X classes 6 days a week and love them. I find all the trainers are well informed and helpful.

The gym is great! Only a few complaints… the heat is turned up too high. You start sweating before you start working out. The other complaint is the Tuesday yoga teacher named Deb. She was rude to both myself and my friend. Not what I expected to happen at a yoga class.

I’m personally sad that I ever left the Edge (unfortunately I moved a little far for some of their locations). I went mainly to the Stratford and Milford ones, and at the time (not sure if it is still the policy) it was great to go in either location depending on their schedule and mine. My favorite part was the classes – great ones that are free and some even better ones (TRX) for additional cost. Always found it to be resonably priced though. The great part was getting to try some out before committing. My roommate had a TERRIBLE experience with the LA finess in the area and she was instantly a convert after coming with me once.

I was in here last night, parking is very limited. You can barely walk through this gym because it is so crowded and there are always people standing around chatting in the way. Supposedly there is a firm no cell phone use policy but I was on a treadmill next to a guy chatting away and nobody that works there will address this.

Contrary to Randall’s experience, I’ve had nothing but smooth sailing with The Edge.
I went in on a Sunday afternoon asking for information and was so impressed I ended up joining that day. I never felt any pressure to sign up, but The Edge had exactly what I was looking for. The girl who helped me was really nice and able to answer all of my questions. She even gave me a tour of the place and told me to excuse their appearance because they were in the middle of renovations and they were making room for new equipment.
True to her word, when I went back a few days later there was a new turf area behind the front desk. A week after that, there was a truck in the parking lot unloading lots of new machinery and a new floor from the front door into the locker rooms had magically appeared.
I really appreciate having a big gym in Stratford, and The Edge is an awesome facility. Huge variety of machines (most equipped with TVs and/or iDevice hookups) and there always seems to be something available whenever you feel like a workout. There are tons of different classes held in two studios plus a cycling room.
The staff has been very friendly and helpful, and the front desk staff seems happy to help if you need assistance. Trainers are willing to work with you to achieve your goals and take the time to talk to you if you have questions.
Overall, The Edge is a fantastic gym! Plus they have locations throughout Fairfield County, and you’re free to use any of them with your membership.
